Wallpaper is an effective way of achieving a beautiful, inspired interior. Combined with paint, it can be used to create a highlight or focus within a living space. Each Little Greene wallpaper design and colourway is presented with three coordinating colours, to assist you in finding a perfectly coordinated scheme.
Use colour and pattern in combination to transform an entire room or simply use wallpaper on one wall to create impact.
It is important to find a wallpaper design that you feel comfortable living with on a day-to-day basis, as well as considering a style that will suit your space and the look you are hoping to achieve.
All over wallpaper or a highlight wall
From smaller prints and subtle designs, to a large scale damask, our wallpaper collections can be used throughout the whole room or to create a focal point within a space.
Create a highlight wall
Using wallpaper on a single wall or chimney breast creates a focal point in any room in your home. Select a space to apply wallpaper by considering the architectural features and natural lighting within a room.
Use wallpaper throughout the space
For a room with impact, use one of our wallpapers in an all-over scheme. Select a complementary paint shade for woodwork and door frames for a coordinated finish.
Combine wallpaper with paint
In period properties, with original architectural features, use wallpaper above or below a dado rail alongside a complementary paint colour.
Choosing a wallpaper design
When selecting a wallpaper, we would always recommend ordering samples of your chosen designs.
Test samples in different lights
Place samples on different walls around the room, to ensure you are happy with the pattern and colour in varying natural light.
Our complimentary wallpaper samples are A4 size to give you a good indication of the pattern. Order A4 Wallpaper Samples online.
Larger samples can be viewed in our wallpaper books, which can be found in our showrooms or your nearest Little Greene stockist. Find your nearest stockist here.
Bedroom wallpaper
For a tranquil bedroom scheme, consider a more soothing wallpaper design that will create a relaxing environment at the end of the day.
Use wallpaper on a single wall behind the bed to create a focal point within the room. Paint woodwork and trim in a complementary tone, for a coordinated finish.
Why not select a delicate floral pattern to create a calm, tranquil space?
Choose a floral wallpaper such as ‘Asterid - Nightshade’, a unique mural of three drops of wallpaper. Most of the pattern appears at the top of the design, giving the illusion of height.
Shop Asterid - NightshadeFor something a little bolder, but still drawing inspiration from nature, try using ‘Darwin – Serein’ combined with Lamp Black woodwork in your bedroom scheme.
‘Darwin’ (c1760) represents one of the Whitworth Art Gallery’s most important recent acquisitions. With a twist in its story, this exemplary English piece was actually found intact in a house in Aix-en-Provence, France.
The exotic scene accurately imitates a typical 18th Century hand-painted Chinese paper. But the tax stamp, still visible on the back of the original rag paper, categorically identifies it as English in origin.
The colours interpreted in the ‘Serein’ colourway are very true to the original - a surprisingly (and wonderfully) well-preserved archive document. The vibrant design can be used in an all over scheme to bring interest and pattern to an otherwise neutral finish.

In a room that can often be the liveliest area of the home, do not be afraid to go bold! Consider a mural or large damask pattern for a dramatic kitchen wallpaper scheme. The kitchen is the perfect place to experiment with stronger colours and pattern, providing a creative space to be enjoyed.
Although there is no specific type of wallpaper for kitchens, Little Greene wallpapers are spongeable to maintain a clean kitchen without damaging the print.
‘Upper Brook Street – Minuit’ provides a dramatic backdrop to contemporary furniture and can be combined with complementary shades such as ‘Lamp Black’ or ‘Citrine’. Also consider the use of colour highlights to add a playful element to the room, for a space that is vibrant and energetic.
Brooke House – Cinder
‘Brooke House – Cinder’ provides a more subtle, classic finish, pulling together a combination of neutral tones for a more traditional kitchen design.
The document from which this wallpaper was drawn is identified as 1920s in origin, notably because of the way it had been printed. The ‘gravure’ technique only became commercially viable after the turn of the last century.
